Cheap Bed Level Sensor (touch)
thingiverse
Affordable BED Level Sensor Solution!! This innovative design utilizes just the sensor wires, which carry minimal voltage (around 0.5v), essentially making it a straightforward switch. When the two M3 screws touch together, it signals the board. You'll need only two M3 screws, two washers, one spring, two nuts, and a printed part to bring this project to life! The total cost is less than $1! To get started, print the provided STL file for this sensor mount. It features a 12mm diameter design that can be mounted on compatible inductive sensors or screwed into place using the two holes provided. I used 20% infill and supports for printing. Next, insert a standard nut inside the printed part at the top, followed by an 8mm M3 screw. Don't forget to attach one of the sensor wires to this screw! To secure the sensor in place, use a 20mm M3 screw before inserting the nut. Make sure to add two washers and one spring in that order: washer, spring, washer, then the other sensor wire, followed by the screw inside the part on the lock nut. With this sensor, you'll need to remove it when leveling is complete to prevent it from touching your print. It's the only drawback, but it works perfectly! Check out the test video here: https://youtu.be/IfeVVwbapV8 If you have any suggestions for a mechanism that would allow the sensor to retract without unscrewing, feel free to share your ideas in the comments!
