Chatton 7 (March 2006)
sketchfab
Area of probable exposed outcrop 200m SE of the Iron Age settlement / bivallate hillfort on Chattonpark Hill, Northumberland, is revealed to be a thin strip of outcrop measuring approximately 1.5m x 0.6m, featuring 5 or 6 cups on its NE facing slope. The cups appear to have been carved parallel to the ground, rather than parallel to the slope of the stone, suggesting the direction in which the carver(s) stood. Only 5 cups had previously been recorded, but this new model reveals the possibility of a sixth. Recorded on the Beckensall Archive (BA) as 'Chatton 7', it was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. A detailed ERA record containing BA material is available at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=108. This model was created from a single stereo pair captured by Joe Gibson in March 2006, as part of the NADRAP / ERA archive imagery.
