A chassis, in both US and UK English, refers to an internal vehicle framework that supports the construction and usage of an object while offering protection for certain internal components. An illustration of this concept is evident in motor vehicles where the undercarriage, featuring the mounted body and incorporating running gear like wheels and transmission as well as sometimes the driver's seat, forms a rolling chassis.
