Aurin M. Chase, a pioneering entrepreneur, laid the foundation for the Chase Motor Truck Company by capitalizing on his experience as vice president of the Syracuse Chilled Plow Company, which had been in operation since 1804. Partnering with influential business figures like Paul Bellinger and Roy Grant, Chase launched production of a revolutionary one-ton truck equipped with an air-cooled, three-cylinder, two-cycle engine. This innovative move was further solidified when Aurin Chase negotiated the sale of Syracuse Chilled Plow Company to Deere & Company in the same year. In 1912, Chase Motor Truck Company touted its "high wheeler" as a versatile vehicle that could effortlessly transition from a truck to a passenger car. The company's advertisements proudly proclaimed, "The emblem of efficiency," emphasizing the reliability and performance of their products. As the company continued to grow, leading businesses began placing repeat orders for Chase trucks due to their exceptional efficiency and simplicity in light delivery services.
