CHARPY IMPACT TEST SAMPLE

CHARPY IMPACT TEST SAMPLE

thingiverse

Charpy impact testing measures the energy used to shatter a specimen with a pendulum-like hammer swinging through it, breaking a charpy sample. The extent of the hammer's swing after breaking the sample indicates the energy lost during the impact. Charpy samples are carefully notched for a clean break in the center of the sample. I'm eager to determine the impact energy required to shatter various filaments and materials printed at different orientations. If you print one of these, have access to a charpy impact test machine, and conduct some tests, please share your findings with me. You can also have some of your samples tested by messaging me for shipping; I'll perform the testing and share the results. I will soon create a tensile strength test sample file as well.
