Charlie Brown LED Forest - battery holder & switch base
thingiverse
A Remix of a Remix! I created a small "forest" of trees that light up, paying homage to the classic Peanuts character Charlie Brown. My wife drew inspiration from his scrawny, lopsided Christmas tree, so I added a sign to match. This builds on the original work of Paul Ricca and Alzibiff, with whom I used their designs as a starting point. Specifically, I utilized the 10mm hole.stl file from Alzibiff as my main source material. To add some functionality to the Christmas tree, I designed a battery base that houses the LilyPad Battery Holder & Switch. Cura 3.5.1 handled the slicing and scaling for me, with different percentages applied to each tree: 160%, 130%, 10mm hole (twice), and 60%. Each tree took around 2-2.5 hours to print. I created two sizes of battery base, one specifically designed for the 60% scale tree, while the others can use a separate base stl. The "Plaque" that reads "Charlie Brown Memorial Forest" printed in about 1.5 hours using brown PLA. To bring the trees to life, I used Adafruit Product #679 - Diffused 5mm Slow Fade RGB LED's.
