Charity collection box

A compassionate neighborhood dentist has joined forces with a worthy local charity http://juliantrust.org.uk/sleepout-2015/ I helped them design and build a collection box for their reception area. This was just one of several similar projects I've undertaken for dentists and charity drives – it appears to be effective! This one-use container has a detachable base, allowing easy emptying. The dentist can reuse or replace the container when needed. Update: An impressive £1,403 was raised in this and other boxes (combined). Great job everyone! Their dedication to giving back is truly inspiring! Here's how it works: The box itself features a simple design made from laser-cut wooden joints. It's perfect for 3mm thick material. The intricate decorations were achieved using one-color raster engraving, complete with ink filling to emphasize the details. Please note that the melamine-faced hardboard used in this example required precise control of the raster power settings to avoid damaging it. Some of the side tenons are intentionally longer than necessary – these protrude towards the back to provide extra support for a sign attached behind them
