Charger Adapter plate for Sony NP-FW50 battery
thingiverse
This is a custom adapter plate designed specifically for dual aftermarket NP-F chargers with LCD screens. These chargers are often sold under different brand names on Amazon, such as "Neewer", but also Fomito, D&F, and Volta. I purchased mine with two NP-F970 plates, but wanted to be able to charge smaller NP-FW50's as well, so I had to create this adapter plate myself since the necessary adapters were not available for purchase separately. The design of this adapter plate is straightforward and uncomplicated, lacking only a connector for the temperature sensor. With just two small wires and some nickel strip, you can easily complete it. The nickel strip can be cut with regular hobby scissors, making it easy to work with. To make this adapter plate, you will need: A soldering iron and solder Two small wires, each 5cm long, for positive and negative connections A very small amount of nickel strip, ideally 0.15-0.30mm thick, which can be cut into a 5cm length Alligator clips to test the charging functionality before permanently assembling it A hot glue gun Optionally, you may also need four M2 screws, 4mm long, with sunken heads, as there are holes for them on the base plate. This project is not difficult if you have basic soldering skills. My adapter worked perfectly on the first try. The only thing to keep in mind is that you must bridge the middle C-terminal (on the base plate) to ground for the charger to detect and start charging the battery. A Designspark Mechanical 4.0 file is attached, allowing you to remix or make any necessary changes to the design.
