Here's a simple LCD enclosure that you can screw together (I believe I used M3 screws directly threaded into the plastic) for a 40x4 character module. This particular one is a NewHavenDisplay - NHD-0440Z part number, but the dimensions are standard and should fit most 40x4 character displays. It features printed PLA construction that fits well overall, with top and bottom components easily explained in self-explanatory terms.
