Character Commission: Axe Lady
prusaprinters

This is the second model that I've created for my coworker, based on some of his daughter's artwork (which she posts on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/p/By-ryYKhCy3/). When I designed this model, I thought that it was going to be really easy to print because of the way that the axe can act as support for the model, but it was actually quite difficult!

My biggest problem was that the model has a tiny footprint, so stuff kept getting knocked loose during the print. I really hate using brims (because they're so difficult to remove), so I ended up slightly overlapping the bases of my support trees with her feet and the axehead, which gave the model a large enough footprint to stay put during the print (and involved less snipping than a full brim would have). Other than that, depending on how large you print it, you may need to support the model's breast and chin; on my large print, they both got messed up, but they printed fine on my 32 mm scale print.
Category: Toy & Game Accessories
