Week 5a Assignment for CGT 116: Character Modeling in Maya Our task was to design, block out in three dimensions, and add texture to a character using Maya. With prior experience modeling characters in Blender, I aimed to push myself by creating a more distinctive body type - that of a centaur or deertaur. However, this proved to be more challenging than anticipated, leaving me uncertain about the expected level of quality. As a result, I did my best with the time and resources available. It took two days to complete the character blockout from start to finish. Initially, I had also envisioned designing more refined armor and a weapon to complement this unique creature, but since the primary focus was on the blockout, I decided to set those elements aside in order to meet the deadline. Unfortunately, my texture work is somewhat rough, as I struggled to grasp Maya's texture painting system during the project. Perhaps with further practice, I'll be able to master it more effectively by the next assignment.
