Chapultepec - Mexico City pt. 6

myminifactory

Welcome to CDMX! As a tribute to Mexico's capital city, MiniWorld 3D presents the most comprehensive collection of its iconic landmarks and famous buildings! This massive project is broken into parts, each featuring a few buildings grouped by theme. Part 6 is Chapultepec, an enormous park within the city that is home to a zoo, many museums, monuments, and one of the most striking landmarks: the Castle of Chaputepec. The Castillo de Chapultepec is the only properly named "castle" in the Americas. Built in 1785 atop a hill, it takes its name from Hill of the Grasshopper (Nahuatl). The castle has been home to emperors like Maximilian of Habsburg and was the site of one of the most pivotal battles in the Mexican-American war in 1847, when it was under siege by American forces. The US forces captured the castle and city; young cadets died heroically defending it. Mexico honors their sacrifice with a monument featuring six marble columns at the foot of the hill built in 1952 - el Monumento a los Niños Héroes. A more recent landmark is a 100-meter-tall monument erected in 2011 to commemorate the Bicentennial of Mexico's Independence, la Estela de Luz (Stele of Light). It stands between the Chapultepec park and below the Castle and Monument, right at the beginning of the Reforma Avenue. Note that all models in the Mexico City series are scaled to each other, allowing you to compare their heights and sizes! MiniWorld 3D is thrilled to bring these models to life and put a smile on the faces of all residents of Mexico City! MiniWorld 3D is the collection of 3D printable landmarks and models from around the world.
