The Adult Form of a Biomechanical Creature Emerges After Civilizations Collapse. Human populations dwindle as biomechanical creatures, specifically the adult form of the Changeling Brood Primate, come into being in the aftermath of collapsing civilizations. These creatures are brood parasites that reproduce near human settlements by hatching their young, which appear nearly indistinguishable from humans during their nymph stage. Nurturing Parents Undergo Manipulation via Neurological Transmissions The adoptive parents of these nymphs are coerced into raising them through potent neurological-altering transmissions sent by roaming adult Changelings that inhabit the nearby wastelands. These transmissions drastically alter the young's brain chemistry, compelling the parents to care for their alien children. Rapid Growth and Transformation Take Place Within Years Within a couple of years, these nymphs undergo rapid growth, primarily in the head and lower abdomen/legs areas. They consume large amounts of minerals as their bodies become dehydrated and coated with metal-infused bones. This process transforms them into adults that eventually leave human settlements. Adult Changelings Return to Claim Human Populations Once adult, these creatures often return to the very human settlements they once called home to systematically cull the remaining population. They do this by feeding on their blood and body salts.
