Here's what changed: the coding combination is still variable, even after modifications made by me based on HGW's original design for "Kryptex als Geocache." It didn't originally work that way because if someone could easily change it, then there would be no challenge to solving it like a geocache. I replaced one ring at the bottom of the device with another piece designed specifically to hold the coding rings firmly in place while allowing you access. As for making further improvements while printing this model (ideas like adding threads might come up later), perhaps we can get a more precise design later down the line. Printing Notes: This particular cryptex printed best at 50% scale, but doing so required relatively minor adjustments after completion to ensure everything fit smoothly together in one piece. Because of that experience, I'd highly recommend increasing print settings if possible, or using different filament materials. My current setup consists of a small-scale printer (specifically, a "Printer Up! mini") running with 0.2mm layers, requiring a total printing time of about four and a half hours from start to finish.
