Change Train Toy
thingiverse
The Fun Saver toy is a Design I created for the Remix Challenge. I felt that since young children are taught to save their money, why not make the saving process fun and educational. When young children are introduced to saving money there is usually a piggy bank involved. Well this toy could be one step in front of putting the coins into the piggy bank. With this toy kids can build a track to their piggy bank for the train to escort their savings too. The train will take the sorted coins from the sorting tower to a piggy bank. Kids will learn the different values, sizes, colors of the four most common United States coins, the penny, dime, nickel, and quarter. General Printing Settings: Material: Blue PLA Printhead Temperature: 210 C Bed Temperature: 60 C Supports: I did not use supports and everything came out fine Rafts: I used rafts for every part, but that is just my personal preference Infill: 25% See PDF for information on the remix, printing guide, and other information on the design. YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMBScWxXVsk&feature=youtu.be It is not a perfect design, could use some adjustments here and there. I did not design the Lucky Locomotive or the Boxcar's Chassis. The links for those are: The Lucky Locomotive parts can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:274755 The Brawny Boxcar Chassis can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:274774 The train track will fit any Chucky Trains that are printed at 65% scale. Chunky Trains by MakerBot: http://www.thingiverse.com/MakerBot/collections/chunky-trains Print Settings: Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Yes Supports: No Infill: 15% Notes: See PDF for more printing information when you load the parts into your slicing software you might need to rescale them from mm to inches or inches to mm. The scale factor should be 25.4. This may or may not be needed depending on your slicing software import units. Post-Printing There were some small imperfections on the parts after printing, much like any 3D printed parts. So I filed and sanded the parts where needed.
