ChamPod - Canopy for Armattan Chameleon
thingiverse
Behold the mighty **ChamPod**: a sturdy canopy for your damaged Armattan Chameleon bottom plate. Check out this stiffness test on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-qgTObsTEw Print the ChamPod in TPU with 2 perimeters and about 15-20% 3D infill, preferably using Gyroid. Add supports to ensure a strong structure. Use 8 layers for both the top and bottom, with a layer height of 0.2-0.3mm. This lengthy print weighs around 20g. But why create such a canopy? Well, perhaps you still have a functional Chameleon bottom plate that's worth saving. Maybe you need a backup racer, making this a worthwhile project. Or maybe it's simply fun to design and build something new in a nerdy way. Important note: Flying your drone with the ChamPod installed will void your Armattan warranty. Proceed at your own risk - I've checked the terms. Mounting the canopy involves reversing its position on the frame, so what was once the front (housing the FPV camera) is now the back. You'll need four 20mm M3 standoffs to secure the "new back" in place. Drill out the M2 screw holes where these standoffs will be placed to accommodate an M3 screw. To attach the canopy, use 10 M3 screws, two nuts, and a couple of zip ties for added security.
