Greetings everyone! I'm thrilled about the new challenges on GrabCAD, especially with such high-quality projects. My project design emphasizes structural strength and simplicity. It features a single part that handles most of the tensile load, optimized through FEA to distribute stress via large radii in each shoulder. The secondary stress point at the stud interface is strengthened by connecting material around 0.785" holes. The design incorporates an over-center interference fit cam lock system for the railing, which slides in before being locked with a quick release handle turn. FEA analysis assumes a yield strength of 40MPa but lacks confirmation from project specifications; it accounts for 125lbf on the bearing faces of the stud interface, acting outwards and constrained by the railing. This results in a factor of safety (FOS) of 2. The total material volume is 99x10^3 mm^3. I hope you enjoy my submission!
