Chameleon from CT Scans

Warning: This model has a high poly count! Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to finally share my first ever uploaded model on Thingiverse! Last summer, I worked at BGI in Shenzhen China - the Bejing Genomics Institute. They're a renowned genetics company that's made some incredible contributions, including being part of the team that sequenced the first human DNA genome! Within BGI, there's a section called GigaScience - a journal dedicated to providing data for everyone to access! With their help, I got my hands on CT scans of a Chameleon and converted over 2,000 images into a stunning 3D model. Check it out! The insides are fully intact, so feel free to leave it in half or don't glue it together - you can still see the amazing anatomy! Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Prusa * Printer: i3 MK3 * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: Yes * Resolution: .15 * Infill: 20% Notes: This model is split in half, so be sure to print each half separately with supports. Post-Printing: Once you're done printing, I recommend not gluing it together - the CT scans will give you a glimpse into the Chameleon's internal organs! How I Designed This Model: Bringing 2,000 pictures to life was an incredible challenge! When you download the dataset, you'll get a compressed *.tar.gz file. After extracting the files, you'll have over 2,000 TIFF images. From there, I lined them up in sequence, specifying the space between slices to ensure proper scaling. This value is crucial - it refers to how many slices/pictures are taken within a certain space. For example, if you take a CT scan of your arm with 100 slices and assume it's 1ft long, that's 100 slices/ft. But if you take another scan with 1000 slices, that's 1000 slices/ft instead! Without specifying the correct value, two scans of the same subject will be vastly different in length.
