Chamberlain Garage door shield

I just traded in my old Genie for a brand new Chamberlain B750 with a quiet belt drive, and that's when I came up with the idea to design a new shield. \r\n\r\nAfter browsing around, I couldn't find any commercial units that caught my eye, so I took matters into my own hands and created one from scratch. It snaps neatly into place, and if you're tall enough, it only takes a few seconds to install. To prevent theft, I cut the cord short, making it impossible for someone to use a coat hanger to latch onto the cable handle - that's definitely easier than trying to grab hold of the hook.\r\n\r\nIn most cases, I wouldn't bother sharing my printing techniques, but in this instance, you'll want to print the tracks with the long direction in mind so they have enough strength to allow the sides to open up slightly and slide past any bulges that might be present. To do this, simply print the track as it comes out of the printer, and add some supports for added stability. There's a hole where you can insert a pin if you want to secure the shield in place.\r\n\r\nIf you own a belt drive Chamberlain garage door, then this is a no-brainer - just install it and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing your garage door is protected from potential theft.
