One of our dining room chairs was missing slider feet on its legs. We have tried many commercial sliders, both stick on and nail on with no success.

Today I did a simple design in OpenSCAD. I matched the dimensions of the sliders on the other chairs so all chairs sit at the same height.

I printed the sliders in red ABS and attached with small tack nails. They slide great!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

LulzBot

Printer:

TAZ 5

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

100%

Notes:

Use whatever printing temps give you a really solid strong part in your favorite material. Strength is important, since these have a lot of stress on them when someone sits in the chair.

How I Designed This

Designed in OpenSCAD based on dimensions of original slider part

I used OpenSCAD to design the part. The source code is included, if you need a part which is similar but with slightly different dimensions. Just change the parameter variables at the top of the file, re-render and export the STL. Good luck!

Category: Replacement Parts
