Chair repair, crutch, limiter...
thingiverse
Originally, I faced a problem with my "Leak down chair." To assess the situation, I turned it over. The cylinder had a diameter of 1 inch, so I went to the band saw to cut a 2-inch long piece of 1-inch inner diameter PVC pipe. After splitting it, I attached this makeshift repair with two zip ties. The first one was too short, so I made a 2.5-inch and a 3-inch tie, ultimately choosing the latter as it seemed just right. I used three zip ties but left them uncut for potential adjustments. Surprisingly, the zip ties proved strong enough without needing heater hose clamps. Finally, I designed a 3D printable version with an inner diameter of 1.125 inches, planning to print two and install them on the chair.
