Chainsaw Man Large Pieces Cut for Smaller Print Beds and Scaling
thingiverse
Hi there. I noticed a lot of comments for this thing saying that they can't print because their bed is too small. I was having the same issue, because my bed is 220 mm x 220 mm, but also because I wanted to scale everything up 105% to fit my fat head. So, I split the large pieces that I was having trouble fitting onto the bed into separate pieces. Obviously, splitting the pieces will require glue to piece them back together. However, some instant super glue works great and gives a basically permanent invisible bond between the pieces. (This is the glue I use that you can find at all hardware stores: https://a.co/d/j77CqTN). Giedzinki says in the original Thing that pieces cannot be scaled because of tolerances changing, but so far I have had no issues with tolerances by scaling the pieces as long as they are scaled uniformly. If there are some tight tolerances, then you can just use sand paper or a file to fit them anyway. I arranged all of the pieces so that they are in the best position on the bed to not require supports and so that they can be scaled if you desire. Happy printing ya'll! P.S. I am also working on a remix that uses magnets instead of hinges and snap joints to fit these pieces together. Also planning on making a YouTube video of my assembly for that. Keep watch for that.
