Chainsaw Bar Support
thingiverse
A lightweight support designed to keep the chain and bar off the workbench while allowing for smooth rotation. Body: Crafted to be printed at maximum speed, this component utilizes five 50mm bolts and nuts. The design also accommodates a GoPro handle. Two additional 5mm nuts can be used to secure the bolt in place by attaching them to the handle. A piece of inner tube or similar material was added to the side pad for extra stability. The bolt end was rounded for user safety, and the body may be attached to a wooden block to prevent damage from twisting forces. Bolt Handle: This component was designed with specific print criteria in mind. A larger base portion is printed at maximum speed, while the tapered section and small end are printed at 50% speed using 0.3mm layers. To secure the bolt within the handle, an oversized nut and a 5mm nut are used. Different print speeds will result in slightly varying internal diameters. Printing the knob base at slower speeds creates a larger hex hole, while faster print speeds on the tapered portion yield a smaller hole and potentially deform the end. Using a timer can help manage this issue. Outer Guide: This component is designed for use during chain sharpening. After cooling, clean the holes with a 5mm drill bit if necessary. A small amount of crazy glue will secure the rubber pad in place. File guide handle: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1751993 Bar oil spout: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1764433
