chain idler pulley 40mm with flex belt for recumbent bicycle
thingiverse
Chain idler pulley designed to work seamlessly with my Challenge Mistral recumbent bicycle as a revised transmission system with an 8-speed hub. Its 40mm diameter and ~42mm width feature a flexible lining belt that ensures smooth operation. The pulley consists of two halves, which can be printed separately. It accepts typical roller skate bearings, specifically ABEC-5 608ZZ, for added stability. Two converters are also required, which can be printed for the axle with a 6mm (M6) bolt. These converters protrude slightly on each side to enable a tight fit into derailleur rigs or other devices. The flexible belt is designed to accommodate 13 chain links and features ninjaflex TPU material for durability. To secure the pulley, you can use two or more of its 12 through holes with simple bolts and nuts. Alternatively, you can glue the two pieces permanently for added stability. An added feature is a smooth belt with grooves that allow for pulleys under increased tension. All tested units have been working flawlessly after a 30km run. It's also recommended to swap axle converters from PETG to ABS for optimal performance. Thanks for your interest! Enjoy using the chain idler pulley system!
