The yarn transport chain runs directly from the card to the print head. I've found that by using WD-40 as a lubricant, I can significantly reduce the amount of maintenance required. Since applying this treatment once, I no longer need to lubricate the chain at all. This configuration also helps minimize wear on the wires due to the reduced bending radius.
