Chain Creator with Text - refactored
thingiverse
I made mostly cosmetic changes to the source code, reorganizing it for better clarity. Certain modifications were made simply because they make the code easier to read. For instance, variables like "l" are often difficult to distinguish from constants like "1" in many fonts. By changing $fn=100 to 30, I significantly improved render speed. I also removed unnecessary brackets and replaced them with indentation for better readability. The most substantial changes I made are not entirely clear-cut. Since some surfaces overhang by more than 45 degrees, they don't print well. To address this issue, I attempted to fine-tune the design so that these surfaces would only have a 45-degree slope. However, the results aren't conclusive yet, and it still presented printing difficulties on my machine. It's essential to note that you need to print with at least some supports; I was trying to get away with only using supports from the build platform.
