CH Pro Rudder Pedals - Heel Cup / Backstop
thingiverse
This is a Heel cup that I designed to snap on to CH Pro Pedals which I use for Flight Simulators. I usually fly at the computer bare footed, and found the existing short lip on the bottom/back of the pedals to start to hurt my feet during longer flights. They seem to be designed primarily for use with shoes. Rather than donning shoes everytime, I designed these heel cups to provide a more comfortable heel rest. I went thru a number of design iterations to get to this version that I am releasing. In the pics with both pedals, the right pedal is v2, and the left pedal is the latest v3e version. - Print it vertically, with the flat section at the back against the build plate. This optimizes the layer lines for the snap features. Other orientations aren't strong enough in PLA (PETG/ABS would likely be ok) - No supports required in the slicer. Support material is already designed into the STL! (See Screenshot) - There is a place for an elastic strap to be installed on the sides and wrap under each pedal, to prevent the heel cup from coming off of the pedals (in case the snap features didn't work). However, I haven't found this to be necessary. The snap tabs fit and hold perfectly on this latest version, though I have only tested it on one set of pedals.
