I'm refurbishing a Scanning Electron Microscope in a hurry and need to pinpoint which type of flange or mounting each joint requires right away. Typically, there are about 3 standards being used, but it's often unclear what kind of joint a fitting is using. Additionally, the hole patterns can fluctuate significantly so they're not reliable for identification. One option is ordering one of every size copper gasket as a reference, but they are relatively pricey and that made me hesitant to take on the expense.
