The Cessna O-1E/L-19 Bird Dog was specifically designed by Cessna for the US Army's requirement of a light all-metal fixed-wing aircraft for observation and liaison tasks. It gained prominence during the Vietnam War. Upon retirement, many of these planes were transferred to the Civil Air Patrol for search and rescue operations. However, due to several accidents involving CAP Bird Dogs, they were sold to private owners. Presently, most of these aircraft are in use by private owners, flying museums, or static displays at various aviation museums. This model is meticulously built to resemble the original specifications, being 97% accurate in terms of dimensions. It features a high level of exterior and moderate cabin detailing. The model comes with animated propellers, control surfaces (ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder), and animatable landing gear retraction, flaps, landing gear doors, ailerons, elevators, and rudder. It is available in multiple formats to cater to diverse user needs and includes various liveries for added realism. The model can be used for in-flight or airport ground animations, video simulations, and even to enhance airport scene settings.
