The Cessna 170 is a light, single-engine general aviation aircraft produced by Cessna Aircraft Company from 1948 to 1956. In 1952, the Cessna 170B model was introduced, featuring a new tapered wing outboard of flaps with dihedral similar to the military version. The B model had modified-Fowler flaps that deflected up to 40 degrees and was adapted from the C-305/Bird Dog. It also featured a new tailplane, revised tailwheel bracket, and other improvements over the 170 and 170A models. A comparison photo of the original model is available.
