Cessna 170 Model Nose Cowl
thingiverse
This is a nose cowl for the Cessna 170 scale balsa model made by Guillows that I built myself, but unfortunately, I lost the vacuum-formed nose cowl that came with it. You can find the actual model on Amazon where I purchased it. It may print a little rough as the nose leaves the print bed due to its high slope, but I didn't try printing with any support, which might have helped. Still, it turned out good enough for me and the rest of the nose printed great, fitting snugly onto the model. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Purse Mendel i2 Rafts: It doesn't matter. Supports: They don't make a difference either. Resolution: .2mm Infill: 100% Notes: I used 0.2 mm layer height and three solid layers at the base. Infill was set to 20% but my software automatically filled it in at 100% due to the small volume of space that needed filling. Feel free to experiment with different print settings and let me know if you find any better options. I printed with Hatchbox PLA from Amazon, which was much higher quality than the material I used before.
