Ceremonial mask - Bembe people, Zaire
sketchfab
Ancient wood, weathered to a rich, dark brown patina, frames the face of an ancient relic with a prominent white concave eye socket area and numerous small holes that once held the gaze of onlookers who peered into its actual viewing area. Thin, circular lips curve upwards in a faint smile, their edges defined by a zigzag pattern of white and red ochre paint that adds a touch of vibrancy to the otherwise somber face. This 20th-century artifact was created through the meticulous process of RealityCapture, which compiled data from an astonishing 1338 images to bring this ancient relic into sharp focus.
