Print 100% scale armor without metal rings via plastic plates and rings for easy printing. Research has led to a scale armor tunic in progress at my studio art major, UMW. Learn more on my blog (http://awatkins.umwblogs.org/category/methods/3d-printing/). If you're interested in scale armor, Wikipedia offers an informative article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_armour). Each scale requires two rings for linkage. Multiply your build platform and print two scales and four rings alternately for efficiency. Set the pair of scales at 5 infill, accelerated speeds, and rings at 50 infill, non-accelerated speeds on the Replicator to save time (each print takes about 20 minutes). Note that rings may be tight when printed; use scissors if necessary to loosen for fitting. The Ring Lord scale maille tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dKD2n-kvVo) offers guidance on the ideal look.
