A low poly ceramic capacitor model is provided for educational and visualization purposes. It has been constructed in Maya 7 with a clean topology featuring only quads, no N-gons or triangles. The model is UV mapped, with unwrapping done without overlapping. Rendering was performed using V-ray (ver. 1.5) in 3ds Max, and the render scene is included. Basic blinn materials with Layered Textures node are present in the Maya file. Various formats are available for download: Maya 7 (.ma, .mb), OBJ (.obj with .mtl), 3ds Max 2009 (.max) and Autodesk FBX (.fbx). Both FBX and OBJ files were directly exported from Maya. The model consists of 592 quads/1,184 triangles and has 598 vertices. Textures are included in capacitor_ceramic_textures.zip file: three versions each of a 1024x1024 pixels .jpg opacity (transparent) map for the label and a 1024x1024 pixels .jpg diffuse (color) map, which are not used. Additionally, there is a 1024x1024 pixels .psd working map for modifying the label, color or creating another texture (see thumbs).
