Centrifuge for dram vials
thingiverse
This centrifuge houses six dram vials at a 45-degree fixed angle using a rotor. A high-torque brushless DC motor powers the system, with a recommended minimum 20A ESC to counterbalance the rotor's mass. Motor mounts are specifically designed for 1806 and 2208 motors, securely fastening to the base plate. The centrifuge case comprises two main components: a sturdy main body where the rotor base plate bolts in, and a hinged lid attached using two 1" 8-32 bolts and lock nuts. Strategically placed seats for magnets keep the lid firmly in place while matching seats on both the body and lid allow for magnetic fastening. The centrifuge is designed to be stable and secure, featuring seats for 1/4" cube magnets in the base that can either hold it down or provide additional support via bolts. A user-friendly interface includes a front plate with a Nokia 5110 LCD display and a five-position joystick, which connects seamlessly to an Arduino pro mini and ESC. The case's back features a convenient hole and seat for a snap-in DC jack, providing a straightforward power connection point.
