Centrifugal Governor

A centrifugal governor is a device that automatically adjusts the speed of an engine by controlling its fuel supply. Its operation is based on the principle of centrifugal force, where weights attached to arms rotate outwards due to this force, causing a mechanism to close or open a throttle valve as needed for maintaining constant speed. A classic example is James Watt's governor, which revolutionized steam engine control in the late 18th century.
