Central Vacuum Muffler / Silencer

Central Vacuum Muffler / Silencer

Not sure how many people are searching for vacuum mufflers on Thingiverse, but if you're one of them, you've come to the right place! I managed to misplace mine somehow, so I designed and printed a new one myself. To my surprise, it works exceptionally well! The airflow is not noticeably restricted yet the noise dropped from 90 dBa to 79 dBa. See it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wev-VcMSJIU Note: I had the inlet open in the garage for testing so the actual sound levels are lower when you're vacuuming inside your house. This fits over a 2" pipe exiting the vacuum canister. I've included the Fusion 360 files if you'd like to modify them for your own vacuum. I used S3D for the slicing and included supports for the bottom part. You shouldn't need supports to print the internal structures as I have tried to limit the overhangs to 45°. Please excuse the rough nature of the print in the photo. It survived two power failures and running out of filament once. But it's a vacuum part, so I wasn't overly concerned about its cosmetic appearance.
