This adapter transforms a Central Machinery 47158 / Sieg X1 Mill into a NEMA 23 Stepper Motor setup. The project has progressed significantly, with detailed models of the mill's X/Y and Z mounts, as well as the coupler, stepper motor, and custom X/Y bracket now in place. Following fine-tuning of the X/Y bracket, work will commence on creating and integrating a new Z bracket. June 20, 2015 - The revised X/Y mount functions flawlessly. However, adjustments are necessary for the Z mount: increase hole size, raise the spacing between bolts, and lower the overall height. To assemble the XY Brackets: Insert two M6-1.00 x 50 Hex Cap Screws and four M4-.70 x 30 Hex Cap Screws into the printed part. Assembly of the Z Bracket: Mount it using two M6-1.00 x 70 Hex Caps and a corresponding nut. Note that one bolt will not have room for a nut, but since it's secured in the machine already, there's no concern. Printing Tips: Ensure printing in a horizontal orientation to guarantee stability and prevent breaks between layers.
