Centerpiece for Dipole / Doublet Antennas & Toroid Mount
thingiverse
This is a vital component for double/dipole antennas, primarily used by ham radio enthusiasts. It snugly fits typical 4 - 10 m fiberglass poles and is perfect for portable operation & summit-on-the-air (SOTA) activities. Features: * Two vertical holes at the back minimize load on the mast top section; other similar parts have a single hole that can easily break the thin top section of standard masts. * Can accommodate a balun made from a T50 or T82 core (optional). The balun can be secured with a plastic M3x10 screw or a printable toroid mounting piece, which can be glued into the respective hole. The connection to the transceiver can be established using either a piece of RG174 coax line or a BNC plug. The latter is recommended if you have multiple antennas, as it allows you to use a single 6 - 8 m RG174 coax cable to the transceiver. The BNC plug is held by a separate printable mounting piece. Strain-relief for the dipole arms and the RG174 is achieved through 1.5 mm and 3 mm holes in the main component. Enjoy your time on the airwaves, and I look forward to meeting you on the bands! 73s, Martin, DK3IT
