Center Finder
thingiverse
A simple device for pinpointing and marking the exact center of a dowel, my low-budget version of a similar metal tool I once used in a woodworking shop. Grasp the dowel firmly with one face flush against the elevated diagonal rib, and the sides securely against the vertical walls of the center finder. Strike the exposed face of the dowel with a mallet to scribe a line across the opposite end, then rotate 90 degrees and strike again to scribe a second line, forming an "X". The intersection point of the two lines will be at the very center of the dowel. This is a 3D-printable replica of an existing high-end metal tool, and will need to withstand considerable wear and tear, so print at 100% infill for optimal durability! The STL file is oriented sideways, and is designed to print with the base facing down on the print bed. Rotate the model so that the face featuring the two holes is flat and even.
With this file you will be able to print Center Finder with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Center Finder.
