Centaur, sculpture of pergamenien group from hellenistic period (about 210-180 B.C.), Rome (?). 3D scan made at Musee du Cinquantenaire, (Brussels, Belgium) with Memento Beta.
The centaur hold a stick on the right hand, may be use to stun the wild boar he had on his left shoulder. This statue was a part of a group of 4 centaurs (2 male centaur, 2 female centaur). The sculpture has been found in the Poppee´s villa at Oplontis (Torr Annuziata). This decorative sculpture was a part of a fountain: The water pour from the mouth of the wild boar.
