The centaur hold a stick on the right hand, may be use to stun the wild boar he had on his left shoulder. This statue was a part of a group of 4 centaurs (2 male centaur, 2 female centaur). The sculpture has been found in the Poppee´s villa at Oplontis (Torr Annuziata). This decorative sculpture was a part of a fountain: The water pour from the mouth of the wild boar.
