Cement Mixer Motor Cooling Fan

Cement Mixer Motor Cooling Fan

I stumbled upon a free cement mixer on OfferUp, but it needed some TLC before I could put it to use. The motor was flooded with water and the cooling fan that kept it running smoothly had given out, its blades shattered and lying on the ground. To get this baby up and running again, I fired up Fusion 360 and created a brand-new fan design. First things first, I printed the thin sleeve, but it turned out to be a bit too fragile - it cracked under stress. Time to think outside the box (or in this case, the printer)! I decided to go with a different design that used a through bolt, which meant drilling a hole straight through the shaft. Now, my first fan had been spot on when it came to dimensions, but I did need to adjust for a 0.2mm shrink factor - and to my delight, it worked like a charm!
