Cement Facility - N scale building kit (1:160)
thingiverse
I am currently working on a future project that features a single track siding located on my lower level, which is made up of one continuous piece of material. I discovered this cement industry siding while browsing Google Maps in Oregon, where I was able to design the components using TinkerCad. My primary objective with this project was to see if it's possible to print a building kit that can be assembled from individual pieces, rather than printing an entire structure as one unit. The final images show how everything came together. To print this structure, you will need the following parts: 1 x Roof 1 x Silos 2 x Walls 7 x I-Beams 12 x Cross Braces 1 x Inside Building 2 x Assembly Jigs Optional components include: 2 x I-Beam assembly jigs to help with spacing and gluing. Printing and Support Materials: The roof was printed by standing it upright on its side, using a large brim for stability and bed adhesion. Printing the roof flat resulted in excessive support material that needed to be cleaned up afterwards and looked sloppy inside the building. The inside building was printed without supports because my printer was able to span the entire size of the structure. However, you can use supports if desired. Silos required supports part way up due to their design. Everything else was printed flat on the bed with no need for supports. I chose not to share the STL file for the logo due to its similarity to an actual company name and logo, which I had used without permission.
