Celtic Chessboard Box Remixed
thingiverse
I updated a chessboard/box that I found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:41792. It was still in progress with some open gaps and the Celtic symbol stuck out too far to balance my chess pieces, so I lowered the height of the Celtic symbol block to fit better. I also added a negative/gap for two sides that slide into each other; it might be a tight squeeze. The total gap is 7mm, which should hold the box shut. The board measures 182mm long and about 22.75mm per chess piece (20mm exactly). Each side stands at 25mm tall if used as a board or around 43mm if used as a box. I'm printing this with ABS, one side upside down to save plastic - no supports will be needed on the upright side, which would waste more plastic. I suggest printing in two colors if you have a dual extruder; however, this piece isn't designed for that. All credit goes to the original designer who made an amazing design, and I just improved it to fit my current needs. I may refine it further to be compatible with dual extruders when I upgrade mine.
