Cello prosthetic pluck assist
thingiverse
The challenge was a young girl with big dreams, who desperately needed a way to bring her music to life on stage. Her family brought her concerns to my doorstep, seeking a solution that would give her the freedom to pluck her cello strings like a pro, despite her prosthetic left forearm holding onto its bow attachment tightly. Together, we worked as a team, and soon a brilliant device came into being - one that clamped securely to the bow, letting her soar on the cello without worrying about her right hand losing hold. The birth of this innovation marked the beginning of V1.0. We added precision by cutting threads into the mount block after printing it. And for the perfect fit, a roll pin was introduced as the axle pivot point, giving way to some sanding to ensure everything fell into place smoothly. Let's dive right in and look at the Print Settings we utilized: Rafts? Yes! Supports? Yes!
