One is printed using the "spiral outer contour mode," and the other is a flat plate that sits on top of the LED's and Arduino, which you can see in the pictures. The reason I chose to use the flat one is because it was impossible for me to print the other one without warping, but perhaps someone else can achieve this with just one wall layer. So I made the flat one instead. In my case, I used two layers, making the flat diffuser 0.4 mm thick. The diffuser helps spread the light and prevents it from shining directly into your eyes. If the light is still too strong, you can simply make the diffuser a little thicker, such as three layers for instance. Of course, it's also possible to create a diffuser out of paper or other thin materials.\n\nThe light source is an Arduino Nano and 6 NeoPixels, which must be one of the easiest and cheapest ways to create a light source at present. This is because I use the Arduino as a power source for the LED's as well.\n\nThese NeoPixel LED's are controlled by code on the Arduino. While I won't go into the details of how this works, you can read all about it on: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-neopixel-uberguide/arduino-library-use.\n\nAdafruit has developed some extremely user-friendly libraries to run these NeoPixel LED's, making it a breeze to get started. I simply installed their library and modified one of their examples, allowing the LED's to change color over time. But you can do so much more than that.\n\nIf you don't want to delve into all the details, you can use the Arduino sketch I included with the files, which also includes the Adafruit library needed for compilation. For the connections from Arduino to the NeoPixels, please refer to the "schematic" at the picture tab. The Power Source is a 5V phone charger (at least 1A).\n\nPrinted with a 0.4mm nozzle, resolution 0.2mm, three top/bottom and wall layers, and 15% infill.\n\nDo you have any questions? Feel free to ask. Do you think I made a mistake or forgot something? Your comments are always welcome!
