This is my inaugural project, conceived entirely as a parametric object within Rhino Grasshopper's vast capabilities. I opted for glow-in-the-dark PLA from E-Sun to bring it to life. At its core lies an Arduino-driven system, fueled by a battery and a step-up converter that orchestrates the brightness or pulsing of UV LED strips. The resulting after-glow effect is nothing short of captivating. Crafted without infill and with 3 shells, I employed a nozzle diameter of 0.4mm and a layer height of 0.2mm to achieve precision. The version showcased in images measures 16cm in diameter, showcasing the beauty of parametric design. To ensure a perfectly flat base, it's essential to sink the object slightly into the build plate by adjusting its Z-axis position. Depending on size and adhesion properties, small manual supports may be necessary for stabilization on a moving bed during printing – a crucial consideration, as highlighted in the provided printing image.
