Celestron StarSense Flat Mount Base

Celestron StarSense Flat Mount Base

I purchased a Celestron StarSense but neither of the accompanying mounts functioned effectively for my intended use. The standard mount features a curved base designed to accommodate larger optical tubes, and I had previously secured an autoguider in the dovetail accessory shoe. An 80mm refractor telescope is currently mounted using Astro-Tech rings with flat tops that include pre-drilled 1/4-20 holes. This adapter was specifically intended for attaching the SS to any flat surface. This mount employs a bracket, which comes standard from the factory with the camera (large OTA), comprised of a two-part plate. To resolve my issues, I created two separate designs. The first uses a single mounting point, whereas the second design spans both rings containing the holes and centers them around 88mm. Both designs emulate the original factory mounting plate in terms of style, incorporating a tapered dovetail shape along with notches for lockdown screws. The mounting holes are recessed to accommodate 1/4-20 socket caps.
