Celestron Focuser Adaptor for 5se

Celestron doesn't officially support their electronic focuser on the 5SE model so this fixes that. No modifications are necessary to any of the stock telescope or focuser components. Basic instructions are: 1. Print this thing out .. I used PETG so if you do to then print it 101% ... ya know .. shrinkage. 2. Open up the holes a bit as necessary with appropriate drill bit. 3. The holes in this model are to be lined up above the existing manual focuser outside (orange) ring. The factory ring goes below this so line up the holes and screw it all back down on top of the factory ring. You may need to recess the drill holes to get the depth you need with the factory screws. Use your judgement here. 4. Use the aluminum ring the focuser ships with that has the crescent cut. The cut goes toward the focuser knob. Drill holes or use course thread screws and just tighten then up a bit .. torque here isn't your friend. 5. Drop the focuser on using their barrel adapter and gently tighten it onto the fancy new orange aluminum piece that came in the kit. 6. Do some manual focus testing with the hand controller (hint .. plug it into an aux port) and then calibrate that focuser. Mounts gonna move a bit but in my testing the rate the focus knob was moving was steady and there wasn't any binding. 7. Crack open a cold one and be proud that you did what Celestron themselves are too lazy to do and would simply not support! I'd recommend a lot of infill and top/bottom layers and outside shells. The more the better? This is a work in progress and I'm awaiting a nice clear night to test this outside of the garage so YMMV and trying this is at your own risk.
