Celestron EDGEHD 11 - 40mm Cooling Fan vent Interface
thingiverse
This homebrew design draws inspiration from the TEMPest cooling system in a loose and creative way. These adapter plates are specifically designed for two cooling fans, which can be attached to the vent ports on the Celestron EdgeHD 11 using the original screws. It's highly recommended to place a filter between the port hole and plate to prevent dust from contaminating the imaging train. Two versions of these plates are included - one for the inlet and the other for the outlet. Both versions are identical, except that the outlet model has a semi-circular extrusion on the OTA side to accommodate a temp/hum sensor cable inside the OTA. M3-10mm screws and M3-5.5mm hexnuts were used to secure 40mm fans in place. Fan mounting screws should be spaced 32mm apart, which is standard practice. Before attaching the plates to the OTA, make sure the hex nuts are snugly in place and threaded adequately. Once the plate is secured, attach the fan mounting from the outside. To seal the sensor extrusion, apply a bead of silicone to render it airtight. The fans used for this design are 9CR0412S501 - Axial Fan, San Ace 40 Series, 12 V, DC, 40 mm, 56 mm, 57.5 dBA, 24.7 cu.ft/min, but any 40mm fan will suffice. As vibrations were not a concern for this setup, imaging and cooling simultaneously was not a priority.
